Bleed Guide

Hi there and welcome to the wonderful world of RP.

First off this is not a thing to tell you how to play but is supposed to help you and others create and maintain a separation between you as a person, the roles we all play and the emotions and feelings that can arise especially during intense RP scenarios.

1. Keep in mind it’s a game, we are all here to tell our different stories and human interaction is a big part of this. We are all adults and it is not a schoolyard. You are entitled to nothing but what people grant you.

2. Each story is important just because it doesn’t fit yours or you think it doesn’t fit the server, doesn’t mean its bad RP, that is not your call to make. A story might be a lot deeper than can be seen by just dismissing it.

3. Within the stories and human interaction of the server you come across people and scenes that you may like or dislike. Just like an actor who plays a Villain in a Movie; the person playing a role, is not the role he or she plays. like horror movies can be scary you can enjoy them because you know it isn’t real. This goes for everyone and every scene on the server too.

4. When you feel a scenario or interaction is getting to you as a person, reach out. We are all here to have fun. If you feel you can’t talk to someone or work it out yourself, ask for mediation as a lot of communication gets lost in text and you can’t read emotion behind words on a page, you might be surprised at how understanding people are and it might lead to even better scenes you ever imagined you’d get into, and enjoy.

5. When communicating ooc about your character, practice saying what it experiences, feels and thinks in third person. Not only will this create clarity for both parties, but will subconsciously help you maintain a distance from your character and help prevent bleeding between your own personal feelings and your characters.

6. If you feel any scenario is too intense or might affect you on a personal level, there is always the option to walk away. Nobody can force you to be a part of something you don’t want to be a part of. Take care of yourself first and foremost.

7. If you do encounter any issues with things like bleeding and separation and don’t think any of the above is enough to help you, do not fear to reach out to staff for mediation. It's what they are there for, they listen to both sides and will try to find a solution that will benefit the server and the RP at all times and ensure that everyone can have a good time without animosity within the community.

I hope these reminders and tips will help each and every one of you to get the most out of your RP and help you enjoy even the scariest and most intense scenarios.
